Black Polo

Black Polo

When we set out to create this polo, we had one goal in mind: perfection. Yet, we couldn’t find a reference piece that met our high standards—neither in style nor in material. So, we decided to craft it ourselves from the ground up.

At the heart of this design is the extraordinary Cashwool®, sourced from Italy. This soft yarn combines the softness of cashmere with the radiant sheen of silk, creating a fabric that is both indulgent and practical.

We meticulously developed the pattern and design, ensuring every detail embodies timeless sophistication and effortless versatility. Whether you’re attending an important event, dressing in classic attire, or embracing refined casual style, this polo seamlessly adapts to your needs.

Because we believe your clothing should work for you, not the other way around, we created this piece to be exceptional in every way—so you can focus on what truly matters.

Discover the polo that redefines the everyday polo, crafted exclusively by Atelier 23.

The Full Story — The Yarn, and How to Care for It

Cashwool is extrafine merino yarn spun by Zegna Baruffa Lane Borgosesia in Biella, the mill that has been spinning for the Italian knitwear houses since 1850. The fibre is finer than standard merino, which is what you feel in the first second: the softness reads as cashmere, but the yarn behaves like wool — it holds its shape, it takes a wash, and it does not thin at the elbow after one winter.

That combination is the whole argument for it. Cashmere is warmer and lighter and nothing replaces it, but a cashmere sweater is worn with gaps between wears and washed as little as possible. Cashwool is the piece that goes out three or four times a week, under a jacket or on its own, for years.

Wash by hand or on a delicate cycle at 30 degrees with a mild wool detergent. Do not wring. Dry flat, because a hanger drops the shoulders of any knit. Keep it folded, and in summer with cedar or lavender.
