The Full Story — The Yarn, and How to Care for It
SuperGelong comes from the first shearing of an Australian merino lamb — the one shearing in an animal's life where the fibre tip has never been cut, and that untouched tip is what makes it softer in the hand than any later fleece from the same sheep.
It sits between the two things men usually choose between. Softer against the skin than ordinary merino, and steadier than cashmere: it holds its shape, it takes a wash, and it raises less fuzz. Worn straight on the skin it is the piece that makes a jacket unnecessary.
A natural fibre lifts a little fuzz over the first two or three wears, where the arm rubs the body. Run a knit comb over it once, in one direction, and it stops. After that: a day between wears so the wool recovers, and stored folded rather than hung.
